Hey Barry,
I'm sorta sittin' on the sidelines with a recent back injury (tried to lift a
spitfire tub off a frame by myself!) and I've been doin' a lot of reading on
FI.
(Listers, sorry to start the dreaded PI/FI thread again, just ignore me if
necessary...)
If you get a chance I'd love to know:
1. What manifold?
2. Throttle body?
3. Control unit?
4. If EFI -- Speed density or MAF sensor?
5. Lucas mechancal inj? I saw a picture of HERALD 1200 with this. It looked
just like a 4 cylinder version of the TR5/6 PI. Ex-Lotus perhaps?
6. If the V6 spit is the subject, perhaps a stock Ford system?
I have Weber DCOE manifolds for both TR4A and Spitfire lying around and I
figured that with a TWM 2900 Weber style throttle body I could FI either one
pretty quick.
The first step is going to be to "Weberize" my 4A. I noticed your post because
I bought the Summit fuel line to make a return line also...
The project got stalled when I started to figure out the systems changes to do
it correctly -- starting with an alternator conversion, complete fuel system
redux, add return line, inertia switch, pump block-off plate.... and then my
son was born :>)....
I have a good little list of EFI links, if it would be helpful....
Now that a complete set of jets/venturis for a pair of DCOE's is about $285,
programable EFI makes a bunch of sense....
