Hi Jack,
I don't have one of these spare, but the same O/D switch arrangement is
used on later (MkIV/1500) Spitfires, Dolomites, 2000/2.5 Mk2, and I
believe TR6. Would any of these be a direct swap for your current
gearstick? At least it might be easier to find parts for a Spitfire
easier than a Stag (were many Stags sold in America?).
I also seem to remember Rimmer Brothers having the complete stick
assembly with switch available new for the Dolomite Sprint. This should
give you what you need if it's still available,
