As long as you follow through with the priming and painting it should be OK. What the washing does is clean off the residue so the primer can work. I used a metal prep from Eastwood tha t required washing after, What I was going to try once was a 2 part self etching primer, said on bottle was "could cause cancer" so I didn't use it. |
