I bought some PPG 82043, the current PPG replacement formula for 1960 Pale
Yellow. As earlier posted, it really is 1972 Mazda "Moonlight Yellow". The
color is slightly lighter and slightly more yellow than the original (I
matched it against paint under the door capping). You can see the
difference when you are closer than five or six feet. Hard to say how close
the original color was compared to what is under the door capping. Since
I'm doing a frame off and repainting the entire car, the difference should
be imperceptible. Beats the custom formula route.
DuPont references the same Mazda color for Pale Yellow.
