I had a lot of trouble getting the engine to stay running long enough to
adjust the suction at the carbs. I finnally got to the point were I had to
decrease the level to lean out the mix I made a mistake in telling you 11/16",
my carbs are actually 9/16" which is lower than factory spec, but seemed to
work as far as leaning out the otherwise unadjustable needles. I had heard
about this on the list somewere, that if the level of fuel in the bowl is
lower, then it will take more suction to lift the fuel into the jet. I gave it
a try since I think my 25 year old jets are worn (the needles look straight
and smooth). It worked for me.
