Since winter is almost over, its time for me to start collecting parts for
this years Triumph winter project. I am quite unhappy with the brake
performance on my GT-6 (I was equally as unhappy with the brakes on
previous 78 Spit but did nothing about them).

First, I am considering replacing the rubber brake hoses with braided
stainless steel hoses. Who sells these ready made for a GT-6? Has anyone
purchased off the shelf braided SS hoses with fitting adapters, if so what
were the Earls or Aeroquip P/Ns for the fittings? I've heard great things
about switching to braided hoses - true?

Second, I am considering replacing the front pads with a higher coefficient
of friction brake pads. Specifically, the Kelated Metalic as manufactured
by Carbotech Engineering. Has anyone used these pads and is the result
worth the cost? Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am looking for
a rotor friendly pad that does not squeal.
