Listers,

I'm in the process of rebuilding the rack and pinion unit from my TR4. I've
been able to remove everything with the exception of the pinion and the
upper bushing. There is a lot of slop between the upper bushing and the
pinion shaft so I definitely need to remove and replace the upper bushing.
I had no problems removing the circlip. Both books that I've read just say
to pull the pinion shaft out. I can safely say that this one won't JUST pull
out!

Any suggestions on how to remove the pinion shaft without damaging
anything in the process?

TIA
