I did the same thing except I drilled a hole in the top of the passenger
footwell. Now I can "pop" the bonnet from either side of the car.

It's rather pleasing to see that my unfortunate experiences with Dan Master's
"hood-release from hell" on his otherwise splendid TR6 on my Tour D'Americ
last September have apparently added to the font of knowlege on this list, and
hopefully TR6 owners reading the above words of wisdom will avoid similar
difficulties by adding an extra hood release cable before theirs jams fast!!!
