Listers,

Last night I dismantled the temp gauge on my TR4. After removing the
chrome bezel there appeared to be somekind of black sealant inside the
bezel that had hardened and dryed out with age. My assumption is this
stuff is to keep dust and moisture from entering the gauge from the front.
What I used to replace this sealant was some Plumbers Putty fixture setting
compound. This stuff is easy to work with, isn't messy and never dries out.
A half pint costs about $1.50. Seemed to work just great.

Just thought I would pass that along.
