Spitfire brake masters

A quick question, in 1976 or so Spitfire changed to the small opening on
the brake master cyclinder.  Other than the fluid opening, did anything
else change, like the bore, or the thread for the brake lines.  would it
make a difference to put a later one on  a MKIV?  thanks chris
