I put a pin stripe on my brother's surf board, it worked the best when I
fastened one end (stuck down about 3"), peeled the whole backing off, and
put it all down in one motion.

The lucky thing about surfboards (on the bottom, anyway) is that they're a
nice curve.  Pinstriping is cheap, I think I paid $6 for 40 feet of
(black) stuff.  You might want to practice on something (your home
computer!) before attempting the car.

It is an unproven fact that pinstriping and stickers on the outside of a
computer case will make the processor run faster (under certain
circumstances)

I also noticed that it didn't grab right away- any boo-boos could be
rectified with a gentle tug as it was going down.
