re: coils

Fred, I run a Crane Xr 700 electronic ignition. Everything was A-OK with
the setup. Then I installed a 40 000 volt MSD coil: I melted the optical
trigger AND the distributor cap's central terminal. It seems the spark
was so hot, it fried everything adjacent.
I find the coil did not make that big a difference, certainly not as big
a difference as the electronic ignition made.
