spitfire body removal

I'd eventually like to do a frame up restoration on my spitfire and I
wanted to know if it is possible to remove the body without first pulling
the engine and trans. and how difficult is this?  It looks like the
steering and the wiring would be the only real problems.  Any advice or
experiences would be appreciated.
