When I took the body mounts off the TR4 to replace them (body side- frame is OK), I noticed some gray-white "stuff" in the holes for the bolts. Is this stuff necessary? It seemed to be mastic, or window putty, or a similar substance. (didn't burn, but got softer when hot) Right now I don't have anything in the "void", but I did put in stainless bolts :-) -Malcolm '62 TR4, undergoing body-on resto |
