I went up Vancouver Island last thursday (haven't recovered until now)-
3hrs driving in a chevette is bad for your sitting hardware!
I got a TR4A tonneau and hoodstick squab cover for $40 cdn. I was happy.
Neither are in very good shape- I will have to redo all the stitching on
the squab (appears to be original!) and get a new zipper for the tonneau.
I will let the list know when I'm finished- neiter piece will fit on my
car due to my roll bar (and the squab is red w/ white piping -> green car
with tan interior). I intent to take a pattern off the tonneua and stitch
one up out of canvas or vinyl.
Incidentally I found an article (circa 1973) in a Popular Mechanics
almanac about how to build your own boat top. It goes into grand detail
about how to contruct the frame (from aluminum tubing)- but as for the
actual stitching of the canvas: the gist is, "let your wife do it"...!
D'oh!
Oh well, another rainy day project...
