The regular TR4 tranny (or for that matter any TR tranny) can be
converted to overdrive (did it myself used an OD from a TR6).
Apart from an Overdrive unit and its associated hardware (adaptor
plate, wiring, relay switch, ect) you will need an OD output shaft
which is shorter than the non OD output shaft. Oh yeah, there
are slight differences in the OD case casting. I guess there are
also slight differences in tranny case castings, from model to
model, but everything should match up
