Lever Shocks

Anyone know how long rebuilt Armstrong lever shocks last in storage?  I
unwrapped the ones that came with my 4A when I bought it two years ago, and
the date on the newspaper they were wrapped in was 1979!  The PO bought
them but just never got around to installing them.

There seems to be quite a bit of resistance when I try and move the lever
as it's sitting on my workbench, so hopefully I can just bolt them on.
