Listers, it's Dave Terrick back to @#$@ disturb.
Just why, exactly, does the elongated linkage adjustment hole exist?
Is it to ensure there is no preload on the pedal?
Is it to bring the pedal closer for the vertically challenged tire kicker?
Is it some arcane US pollution law thingy?
What?
My 65 TR4a had no such slop allowance and all was fine. So, one
throughally annoyed by the slop on my "new" TR6 I simply drill and pinned
the sucker in place. End of problem, no ramifications in 6 years of
drivership.
Lest this become an unending thread wasting valuable bandwidth otherwise
available for marmots and other sado-massochistic Lucas worshippers,
perhaps direct replies could be made to me. I will give the list a
"Letterman top 10".
