It's been a while since I've had any reason to speak up, and I guess I
should have known it wouldn't last.
The TR4 has had two episodes of what I interpret to be vapor lock in the
past three weeks (one while the wife was driving around town). Symptoms
are:
- Hot day (80s), but temp gauge is within normal range
- Engine rebuilt 3K miles ago, and running like a champ
- Car starts idling very low (500-600 rpms) and rough
- Engine stops and will not restart
- Fuel pump bowl full; fuel filter (glass) empty
- Next morning, all is well with the world
Okay, so assuming I have vapor lock, what can I do about it? My wife is
quickly coming to the conclusion that she doesn't much care for driving
the TR4, and that's not the response I'm looking for from her towards old
cars.
Thanks.
