I don't think you are missing anything. The GT6 fuel tank is just a plain ol' tight fit. Having done this chore a few times, I can tell you that the only way it comes out (that I can figure) is by raising the rear of the tank and gently prying the rear flange of the tank over the obstructing point of the rear valence. Push the tank as far forward as you can first. Expect to scrape a bit of paint off the tank. It will come out, though. Good luck Karl |
