Like all other cheap appliances, they'll never do what you *really* want
them to.  I used one to apply stain onto a house, but it was slower,
messier, and a lousy job compared to the (worn out!) Sears air sprayer.

However we were using latex-based stain, which is too thick for the Wagner
airless sprayer.  IMHO for small jobs you would be better off buying a
little compressor and a Paasche (sp?) 2-stage airbrush.  It takes forever
to paint a panel but it's perfect for just touch-up.  Much easier to blend
the color.
