Thanks for the info, Chris.
The parts I'm thinking about are.......
Carbs and Manifold. My PI system is a bit sick and I thought of changing to
carbs temporarily until I have the time and money to cure it. Rimmer Bros
say it should all fit but I'm not sure about the PI distributor and cam
characteristics with carbs.
Parts to Refurbish. Bits that I can fix without taking my car off the road.
Examples, brake parts, steering(perhaps a change to power?), driveshafts,
rear arms, front drag struts, etc. also interior wood.
Exchangeable Parts. Many T2000 items have to replaced on an exchange basis
with a surcharge in UK. I'm talking old units to send in, like rear hubs,
differential, gearbox, etc.
Parts to Keep. Like glass, body trims, badges, any good common panels,
instruments and so on.
I've yet to see these cars but they are described as rough but complete by
the vendor. He won't have them picked over but the price has dropped from
400UK pounds to 150 in a month.
Of course, they may be complete sheds (UK term:-)) but it wouldn't take too
many decent bits to add up to £150 worth.
The bits I'm interested in may help you advise me as to whether to wait for
a pre-facelift car or go for one of these, probably the S for the wheels.
Many Thanks,
David Hill
