I do know someone who clames to have changed his big ends, main bearings on the road side. I suspect you could also change your oil pump, and oil filter. That doesnt take much effort. Bit of a proplem with the timing chain unless you cary the 5 foot long wrench to undo the crank bolt. I keep a spare fan belt, and distributer, packet of crisps, brake fluid, bottel of drink, water, tourch are keped in the back of the cat. Socket set, small TV, tent, matches, disposable barbecue, sleaping bag, two days food, gas stove, kettel, coffee, toe rope are leffed for longer trips. 80 miles or more. -- James Carpenter Yellow '79 spit wired by a trained marmot |
