It's the receptacle for your seat belt when you are not wearing it. The
early ones were white, the later ones were black. For example, my '74 has
black ones. Come to think of it, my '71 had black ones too. Hmmm. The
color must be related to the interior or exterior colors. Both of the
cars I mentioned were dark - Carmine Red and BRG... wait - my '69 had
white and it's body was Jasmine (pale yellow). The color must be related
to the body color.
