This is absolutely correct. What you are looking for is the Vanderwall
bearings. They are copper backed. Now for normal road use, white metal
bearings are fine, in fact if you use a pressure warning light of 20psi,
those will allow you to rebi=uild the engine with just a set of new
shells and no crank grinding in case of failure. If that happens to you
with the vanderwalls you are in for a regrind. The vW's are better for
competition and REQUIRE your crank to be heat treated.
