I had to do this recently in the middle of the night. There is a small
plastic screw on the side of each of the heater controls, unscrew and
remove the lever caps. Then remove the screws that secure the centre dash
panel. Pull the centre panel forward. This will give you access to the back
of the switch, where you can remove the wire and bits that retain it. Make
note of which wire connect to which terminals. I forgot to make note of the
wires and consequently had to spend a while trying the various
combinations until it worked properly.
