The wiper motor is now working. Here's what we found out. The DPO had
attached a hot wire to the wiper switch, it should have been a ground
wire. Consequently when we turned the switch on we were sending 12
volts through the ground and already had 12 volts going to it from the
'real' hot (green). Translates to smoking wires.
TR3A Wiper Wiring:
Green wire goes to hot. (Post 2)
Green/black (Post 1)goes to the switch. All the wiper switch does is
make the ground.
Apparently the red wire going from the motor to the top of the gear box
is to provide power after the swtich is truned off so that the arms will
continue into the park position.
Apparrently the TR2 had a hot switch (at least that's how I interpret
the wiring diagram).
Does anyone have the ability to post the wiring diagram for a TR3A?
Barry states that the only accurate one is out of the TR3 owners
manual. I have tried to get the book but have been told it's out of
print.
Thanks for your help.
