I am going to buy $1500 plus worth of parts from TRF to take advantage of
the 30% off winter parts sale. I want to do this before Feb. 15 to beat the
1998 price increases. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get the car
completely stripped down to the frame before that time, therefore I won't
know exactly what parts to buy. This leads to my question: Are there any
parts that one should replace automatically in a full restore related to the
suspension, brakes, etc.
Here's what I already know I don't need:
-the engine, tranny, dif, all 6 u-joints and rear hubs seem to be fine.
-dif mounts are fine and look like poly.
-upper A-arm bushes are poly.
-steering bushes are poly.
Here's what I already know I need:
-Water hose kit
-body mounting kit
-body rubber seal kit
-floor boards, outer and inner sills
-trailing arm bushes - Nylatron
-lower A-arm bushes - Nylatron
-front shock bushes - Nylatron
-ball joint and tie rod end boots
-all spring collars/rubber
-all brake hoses
I guess I'm looking for things you generally replace no matter what. Thanks
for any advice.
