My experience with AMCO tops is about 25 years out of date; at the time,
though, they were very nice quality, probably about the equivalent of
OEM, except that (at least then) they had traditional "silver" metal
snaps (installed already), while the OEM top had the plastic snaps. This
was on a 1969 Mk. 3 Spitfire.
My experience with Robbins is more recent; about two years ago I helped a
friend install a Robbins top on a Mk.IV Spitfire. Again, I found the
quality to be at least equal to OEM. Also, the newer Robbins tops have
black-finished snaps that more nearly match the original in appearance.
However, one does have to install the snaps in the Robbins top. No big
deal, though.
