A couple of other details for this: Originally the motors came with a slot head nut that allowed tightening with a screwdriver. Most of these are long gone, so your solution works fine instead. On installation be sure the bolt flange of the pump is flat. Most pumps have been overtorqued, especially the later ones with the thick soft spacer. This bends the flange inward, and there is not way to have a flat sealing surface. Happy motoring. -- Brian W. Neuschwander |
