steering wheel removal

Dear Listers, 

My previous message looked unclear, when I just re-read it. I meant that my
steering wheel was on tight, and I nearly broke my nose trying to pull it
off. That's why I suggest loosening the nut, but leaving it on, until you
pull the wheel partly loose.
