triumph brake booster rebuild

I am not sure if my last post got out, so I'll try again...

Has anyone successfully rebuilt a brake booster (servo) on a Triumph,
specifically a tr6.
I really don't want to spend $300 on a new booster, but I have heard
various unsuccessful stories with the rebuild kits that are available.

Any input would be appreciated
