Yes, the sensing bulb is integral with the capillary and gauge; it can be
removed without any problem.

The routing on my '60 TR3A came in on the drivers side near the bottom edge
of the battery box, and then follows around the battery box just above the
dash stiffeners (also used to mount the heater) to the passenger side, and
then goes to the dash gauge around the heater. Leave a little coil so you
can pull the dash insert out to work on it without straining the capillary.
