IT DOES NOT - The sensor line goes from thermostat housing to guage and
is a solid (?) line. To remove guage you have to remove heat sensor in
thermostat. Remove the bracket holding the guage to the dash and pull
the guage and line through. Be very careful of the sensor line. If it
breaks you're up the proverbial creek...

This is a repeat message, so thanks if you've already responded:

I'm putting a new coat of wrinkle paint on the centre gauge
cluster and
        I've
got everything removed except for the coolant temp. gauge, and
it's got me
        stumped.

How does the line from the engine sensor detach from the back of
the gauge?

The fitting is round with no knurling or visible thread and
timid pulling
        doesn't achieve anything. Any ideas..??

        Thanks,
