Friends,
the odd 1970 badges etc. can be seen in the "Triumph Spitfire and
GT6, a guide to originality" book by John Thomason.
ISBN 1-85223-893-3
If You haven't got it - get it! Tells You lots of "unknown" secrets
about our dear little cars.
The non NA market bonnet badge can be seen on picture 3.22 page 43
If I'm not mistaken the difference on the NA market badge was that
it had the RAF roundels superimposed around the SPITFIRE lettering.
Ours didn't. The badge is slightly rhomboid, not quite rectangular.
The rear boot badge is seen on picture 3.25 page 44 with the TRIUMPH
lettering against a dark background in a rectangular badge.
The SPITFIRE badges on the sides of the rear is not shown in the
pictures.
The new rear lamp lens (and the old one for comparison) is showed
in picture 3.26 page 44 it have the lettering L847 ENGLAND SAE ST 69
LUCAS on it. The old one has got lots of little markings and in
larger letters L672 ENGLAND SAE STB 62 LUCAS among other things like
the E1 approval etc.
Really nice book...
