I had a conversation last summer with a fellow I met at the ABFM in
Portland OR, regarding oil filters. He noticed the FRAM filter on my
Spit. He told me that that particular filter did not have a valve built
into it to prevent the oil from draining back into the block when the
engine os off. Consequentially, it takes longer for the oil to fully
circulate after startup. For filters that mount with the screw-side up,
that is no problem. But in the case of the Spit. it seems that it would
be. I think the Filter was a PH-16.

Does anybody else share that emotion regarding oil filters?
