Greg,
In an old issue of Grassroots Motorsports, somebody claimed that he got
something like 220 or more hp out his full-race GT6 motor, but I found that
heard to believe. However, I do know that the Vitesse that was raced in the
1960s Trans-Am made 180 hp out of its 2-litre motor. Nevertheless, I still
think that the extra torque of a TR6 street motor is the best choice for a
street car. Let me know what you find out.

Karim;
I've heard the same thing about the pre 72 engine and the carb clearance. I
think the issue of the 2.5L motor being slower to rev is overstated. With a
lighter flywheel and higher compression it will certainly rev as fast as a
stock GT6. I'm going to do some calculations and see how much displacement
can be had by boring out the 2.0L to .030 oversized. Maybe that'll be a good
compromise of displacement and revs.
Anything I come up with I'll pass along.
