Tom,
As a matter of fact it started right up. I t idled just fine but could
not get enough octane at power. Tried a DCOE Webber, no help, went with
twin S.U.'s, no help. Blew two head gaskets, pulled the engine down and
discovered the highly milled head, pulled the pistons to do a ring job
and discovered #2 was broken. Replaced that, rebuilt a head from a 1500
rescued from a parts car I bought, got it back together just in time for
the Portland ABFM, Labor Day weekend. Took 3rd place in the show
portion.
I now have about 550 miles on the engine and so far it runs great.
In the future, however, I will measure all the parts I buy before using
them.
Joe
by the way, you sent data on your 74 Spit. Do you not have a 77 as
well?
