If the engine is worn, with high clearances, increasing the oil supply to
the valve area will definitely decrease the pressure and supply to the
main and big end bearings when the engine is hot. Not a good thing, in other
words.
If the clearances (meaning main /big ends as well as rockers) are small,
and the oil pump is working within its capacity, the external oil feed
should not reduce the oil pressure to any noticeable amount.
