I just remove the coil-to-distributor wire.
It's only one wire, and if any giant sparks appear
they are right on the coil.
Looking at this practice now, I wonder what happens
if the 25kV jumps to the post of your coil that is
connected to your fancy electronic ignition.
...but I've never had troubles in real life.
