Yes, I remember that! And, for that reason and to reduce wear on the
throw-out bearing and thrust washers, I have always put the car in
neutral at the lights. I am a mechanical engineer and I am firmly of
the opinion that rotating systems work best and last longer when thrust
forces are minimized.
