Chris,
it was the technical and design departement at the Standard Triumph
Motor Co. in Coventry...
The same people who designed and built Your TR4A and (at least the
predecessors to Your) Spitfire MkIV... I think they've done a great
job both on the cars, and on the carbs... Remember they had to design
a constant depression carburettor that did NOT violate any of the
(and there were lots of them!) different patents the SU Co. had.
The carb design was then offered to Zenith for manufacture, to give
Triumph an independent supplier. The SU Co was owned by BMC and it
charged Triumph far more for the carburettors then they did the MG
Car Co for instance...
So, if You go off in Your oversized pickup truck and shoot our dear
Mr Harry Webster - then Your in for a flaming like no one has ever
seen on this list, I imagine... ;-)
