A.   WHERE ARE YOU?  ...people seem to forget that you're addressing
the      WORLD when asking a question in a net newsgroup.

B.  Look up metal supply in your yellow pages... OR find a business to
business phone directory... If you're near any sort major city or
manufacturing area... there should be a metal supply... 

I'll leave it to others to recommend a thickness for you!

I think you should be able to find it "local"... as shipping sheet metal
would be cost prohibitive... unless you don't have options!
