Len, See pp.103 -104 in Piggott's Original Triumph TR for the answers to
all your questions. (HE was normal - could have been either E or HE) The
year problem could be that the car was not sold until ''69 - hence not
licensed until then. Reason for that and maybe the strip down the fender
could be, according to Piggott, that CP25002 thru CP25145 were CKD cars.
(This means shipped Completely Knocked Down and assembled overseas). Good
luck. If all that is true, you have a unique car, but, then again, they're
