I recently purchased a 1969 TR6 CC25017 (the 17th TR6 built).
I have noticed a couple unique things about this car and would
appreciate the wisdom of the list in determining originality.
Along the top edge of the rear fenders, starting at the door
and running back to the trunk lid is a chrome bead (painted)
similar to that used on the TR250. I have chipped away some
of the repaints to reveal that the bottom layer of paint on
this strip is Damson, the original color of the car. My
question is how many TR6's were built with this strip. I
can find no reference to it in any of the materials I have
on TR6's.

I have heard that the very first Tr6's had fender beads (A la
TR3's and 4's, and Austin Healey's and many others) but that
they discontinued them in a styling decision.

The build date on this car is listed as April 1, 1968 - this
seems early since the car is registered as a 1969.

Cars during this time were registered according to the year
they were imported as opposed to when they were build. Later on
with the advent of emmisions and saftey regulations this practice
was no longer allowed.
Congratulations on acquiring such a rare/early car.
