I've done the same route before. With the exception of detouring on Skyline
Drive in mountains on the way there. Really a spectacular drive and view.
It seemed rather cool and airconditioned compared to the 112+ temp I had
left in Texas.

It really does seem like you spend a day in Tennessee. But won't you be
driving with Mr. Mace, the Triumph Trivia Brainiac? Maybe Tennessee will not
seem that long after all.
> I should be at the convention site early to mid-day on Weds.
We should be arriving by Noon on Wednesday. It is a 3 hour drive for the
group in Austin.
> staying in Waxahatchie... I guess about 50 miles from the convention site,
but I understand that it's about a "Texas mile", more or less.
Some people commute from there. There are pretty good roads for fast transet
from Waxahatchie ( I am impressed you can spell it). But a mile does appear
to go faster in Texas.
> Now, I will be quite thirsty after driving all those miles...
You'll certainly have a greater than average thirst when arriving.
