We used Cooper Tires many years ago when we were rallying. Their main
advantage was that they were inexpensive.
Because of my good luck with them, my father bought a set for his Cadillac.
(You can tell my acorn fell a LONNNGGG way from his tree, but that's another
story...) Anyway, those Caddy tires had a lot of shimmying & vibrations
(turns out, because they were out of round). Cooper replaced the first set with
another that was just as bad. Finally, he had them shaved at a race car tire
shop and that made them usable.
My experience since has been, don't ever buy the cheapest line of tires (even
from the majors, like Goodyear or Michelin). They are "made to a cost" and are
less desireable than the middle-grade, most popular tire lines. I can feel the
difference in handling and steering response, and they wear faster than the
more expensive tires. (Of course, since its a Midget, you are just buying the
tires so you can sell the car, right? <g>)
Just my .02.
