See below for the original discussion about the numbers of TR's produced. I
thought I would forward the numbers for the TR2 through TR6 models. I have
also added some data on the TR4. :-) (N.B. Martin - the latter is partially
what I owe you- I havn't forgotten.)

I pulled this info from a great article (entitled Triumph TR Supplement) in
"Throughbred and Classic Cars" magazine (Sept 1980). The article covers all
TR2-TR6s.

First - for each model - here are the numbers of cars and years made.

Model Number made Years made

TR2 8628 1953-55
TR3 13377 1955-57
TR3A 58236 1957-61
TR3B 3331 1962
TR4 40253 1961- 64
TR4A 28465 1965-67
TR5 2947 1968
TR250(US only) 8484 1968
TR6 94619 1969-1976

TOTAL TR2 - TR6 258,340 cars. (Detroit made that many in less than a year
-TRs were made over a period of 23 years :-).

Second -- TR4s

A) Commission numbers ran from CT1(18 Jul 1961) to CT 40304 (built Jan? 1965)
(don't know why the discrepancy of 51 numbers.)
B) Engine - 4 cylinder "wet -liner", 2138cc, 100hp
C) Speed - 0-60mph in 10.9sec, Max speed 102mph, standing qtr mile 17.8sec
D) Gearbox - all synchro 4 speed with optional Laycock overdrive
E) Frame - modified TR3 - track was wider than the TR3 ( a 4" wider front
track obtained by welding 2" box sections on each front side, rack and pinion
steering, and a 3" wider rear axle)
F) Body - Michelotti styled, built in Liverpool (rather than Birmingham);
this body was carried through the TR4A, TR5, and TR250 with relatively minor
decorative changes. Many interior body parts (and doors, cowl and
windscreen) were retained for the TR6.
G) Brakes - disc front (modified over the model run), drum rear ( 9 or 10
inch shoes)
H) Tyres (tires) - 5.90X15 bias ply Dunlop (factory option 165/15 Michelin
and maybe others brands of the same size)

Thought this might help someone. Any other questions - please feel free.
