Sorry for the interruption, but speaking of interruptions, my local
Dayton Area FreeNet is going extinct as of June 30, so barring any
miraculous extension, I may or may not be back on-line after that...
but as I was saying, there should be a proper combination of spring
height and bracket style that will make your car sit just right, as
described in Bentley. In my own case, the solution was to trade my
new `comp grade' springs to a fellow club member who had a '76 TR-6
with a severe squat problem...after the swap his car sat up just
right, and his old, sagged springs when put under the 250 looked
just right, gave a nice ride, and slight negative camber. End of
problem for both of us, for the price of one pair of springs.
BTW if one of the old springs is taller than the other, which the
one from the passenger side will probably be, put that one under
your driver side, i.e. swap them L to R for best, level results.
Your problem, and mine, seem to be so common, that I'm surprised
that the part suppliers do not give two different listings, for
early and late, unless I just haven't found them yet.
Well, hope this is something to go on, good luck,
Tom Tweed
