So, the folks ask for the rolling circumference on a set of Michelin
Redlines. No problem, I have five of them in the storage shed, still mounted
on the wire wheels, I'll just go measure them for him. There they are, at the
back, behind the lawnmowers, the bicycles, the garden hoses, boxes of this,
and boxes of that. Oh well, I'll just climb ever everything and loop the tape
around the top tire, and make a measurement. Whoops, dropped the end of the
tape, I'll just pull it out and start over. What the....! It's stuck between
the tire and the wall. I'll just <grunt> move the tire <ungh> and loosen it.
No, that didn't do it, it's stuck behind the second tire. Move it. Oh, no,
it's stuck in a crack in the siding. Sigh! Move the lawnmowers, the bicycles,
the garden hoses, boxes of this, boxes of that, and the tires, and retrieve
the tape. Pull out the tire, and measure. Oh, well, should I have expected
anything else? After all, the tires came from an LBC, didn't they?

Anyway, with a fair amount of tread, the circumference measured 83 1/4 " With
an additional 1/8 " tread, for an "as new" configuration, the circumference
works out to be 84". Reverse engineering these numbers, the aspect ratio
works out to be fairly close to 80.
